What belongs here?
Original albums and EPs combining sludge-derived density with expansive dynamics, atmosphere, textural experimentation, and often long-form composition. The category shares history with sludge, post-rock, doom and industrial metal; it is not interchangeable with all post-metal.
Coverage honesty: This is a substantial, source-led first inventory, not an exhaustive worldwide census. Records have grades B (specialist classification/clear source) or C (hybrid, contested, or less verified). Album titles and years derive from discographies; classification can be revised. A few editions and 2026 releases warrant additional checks. Nothing is marked listened unless already confirmed.
Why one branch? 'Ritual', 'instrumental' and 'progressive' below are browseable facets, not newly invented genre children. We won't divide the tree solely to make more folders.

These are documented boundary tests, not silently dropped albums. A different artistic period by the same artist may belong elsewhere.
